Brief pre-view
Sorghum is among the few crops that are widely adapted to the diverse agro-climatic zones in Kenya. The crop has many uses, both in domestic and industrial applications, which include baking, industrial brewing and extraction of ethanol; products that are yet to be fully explored and utilized in Kenya.
Despite its importance, sorghum potential has remained unexploited due to low productivity, lack of diversified uses, inadequate product promotion, poor market linkages, un-favourable policy environment, and low adoption of improved varieties.
